53. Regulatory and legislative provisions. In civil matters, a represented party relying on regulatory or legislative provisions other than those of the Civil Code, the Code of Civil Procedure (chapter C-25.01), the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Part I of the Constitution Act, 1982, being Schedule B to the Canada Act 1982 (UK), (1982, c. 11), the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms (chapter C-12) and the Consumer Protection Act (chapter P-40.1) must provide the judge and the parties with a copy of the provisions.
In criminal and penal matters, a party relying on regulatory or legislative provisions other than those of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Criminal Code (R.S.C. 1985, c. C-46), the Canada Evidence Act (R.S.C. 1985, c. C-5), the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (S.C. 1996, c. 19), the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, the Code of Penal Procedure (chapter C-25.1) and the Highway Safety Code (chapter C-24.2) must provide the judge and the parties with a copy of the provisions.
